Who is Zoom?
Hey, that’s me! I’m nerdy for adventure, new experiences, good food and laughing! I think adventure is 90% attitude. I always try to see the best in people and my situation, and how I can make the most of both. I’m a huge animal lover who hails from the great city of Chicago, IL.
After going through a mid-mid-life crisis, I left my 9-5 job in America to travel throughout Asia. I want to see if there is more to life than health insurance, a 9-5 job, and money. Is it possible to have a life you wholly love?
Who is this blog for?
If you’ve ever wanted to travel abroad, but don’t think you have what it takes, this blog is for you! Seriously, if I can do it, you can do it. My content is down to earth. I somtimes talk about what we all do in the bathroom, and being out of shape. I hope to show you that you don’t have to be skinny, rich, and fit to see the world.
If your visited countries/states/provinces list is in the double digits, this blog is for you too! I hope you enjoy the fresh perspective of a travel newbie, and that it will reignite your flame and capture your sense of adventure! I’d also love to hear any pro tips you have. 😉
If you’d simply like to live vicariously through someone else’s adventures from your couch, I’m here to help you! I hope to fill your feed with pictures, funny stories and brightness. I also take audience requests sometimes – eating strange things, finding pancakes, or staying in capsule hotels. If there is something you want me to check out for you, I’ll do my best!
How did you get your name?
My first World of Warcraft character (I know, you’re already rolling your eyes) was named Zumaria. That become my online handle for pretty much everything. While planning for my first trip to Burning Man, people were calling me “Zoom” for short, and it stuck!
What should I expect on this blog?
Posts are published on Sunday and Thursday. Their goal is to help you add adventure into your life, and hopefully show you something maybe you didn’t know before!
I want everyone to be empowered to have experiences through travel – even if it’s in your same city! Adventure is an attitude, and you can take control over that! To make it easier, I’ll be talking about trip planning, budgeting to make your money go far, and all the tidbits I learn on the road.
I’m looking forward to having you along!
